This pre-loved dress would suit any bride with a short turn around, someone who has a tighter budget but loves this design or a bride who is shorter/ smaller dress size and is happy to get further alterations made as needed. Both elements of the dress have been professionally dry cleaned since my wedding day in July and overall are in excellent condition. The organza has very minor defects which I have tried to show in the images alongside some areas of discolour on the train (hard to capture as quite light) but not visable unless on a white background/up very close; 1 to the stitch edge on right side of chest, 1 to the base of the side seam and 1 to the train clasp from where I used a safety pin to secure it - all of these defects can all be easily rectified by a seamstress and I would actually recommend the clasp is replaced for something else as the organza doesn’t hold enough weight for the train to stay put when hooked up - hence the safety pin. The slip dress has no visible defects other than I've noticed some very minor markings on the inside fabric by neckline but doesn’t not show at front and to one side around knee height some other small markings but these are not that visible unless held up to the light or very close to the eye - they are not visible once the organza is over the top and may disappear further with another clean. I have also included some images of the hem of the slip dress to show condition (hard due to shadowing) but no major discolouring/markings. The dress has had the following alterations made by a Fall Bride recommended seamstress (Sigita at Jansi Studios in West Dulwich who was excellent and managed a very quick turnaround): - Vincent slip re-hemmed in a premium stitch to improve the original finish (no length taken off) - Vincent slip hips taken in (approx 1 inch) to create a straighter cut - Vincent Slip back cinched in slightly - Organza hips taken in to follow slip straighter cut - Organza 1cm hem from original length (I am 5.7ft and wore 2.5inch heels) - Organza back cinched to match slip, including rework of the bow tie to match organza fabric (cheap ribbon on the original design) - Some thin breast pads were lightly stitched in but have since been removed, the stitching sites are visible but inside only. - Original hanger ties of Vincent dress have been cut out For further clarity I am usually a size 8 but was going to be 3 months post partum on my wedding day so factored in some wriggle room when ordering (mainly for my new cup size) and was actually very glad because I preferred the looser/relaxed fit of the dress hence the very minimal alterations made. I have included a number of photos of me wearing the dress so you can get a sense of the shape and length that I had it. I loved the dress so much - I hope whoever gets to re-wear it does too.
